So we had a slight change of plans. The harbor at Great Guana Cay looked like we’d have a more peaceful stay than at Little Farmers, so we de decided to wait until early Friday to move south. Then something I ate didn’t agree with me so I was out of commission for Thursday. When Friday morning came, we headed south as planned but as we passed Little Farmers, the anchorages were packed and the wind was right for sailing south. We’ve had a lot of non-sailing days so we blew by the crowds and headed for Emerald Bay.
We were on the west side of the Exuma chain so we crossed east through the Galliot Cut and turned south. We had some nice sailing. There were a few other boats out there with us who had the same idea. A few hours later we arrived at Emerald Bay Marina. They had a lovely slip available on a floating T-Head plus they have a fuel dock which is a rarity. So we topped up the tanks and are staying the night. It was windy out on the Exuma Sound but it’s quite peaceful in the marina basin. They have a very nice lounge area and Shane has promised me his famous coffee in the morning.
