Big Majors Cay & Staniel Cay

There is supposed to be good internet/cell coverage here but we’re getting no signal. Some folks who’ve been here for a few days say that coverage cut out Sunday and has been spotty since. The wind is settled so the water is flat. The anchorage is large and popular. It’s got a sandy bottom, clear water and a lovely beach. The sun is shining. The solar panels are cranking out the amps. On shore folks appear to be playing with a bunch of dogs. They’re wild pigs! The pigs are used to getting fed so they’ll even swim out to you for a treat.

We dinghied over to Staniel Cay for lunch and a stroll. This cay has houses, little markets, and people. There is a yacht club with adorable guest cottages on the hill and a nice restaurant. Nurse sharks hang out under the docks to catch scraps from the fish cleaning station. We saw some more cute houses as we wandered.

Alas, we need internet to work so we’ll move on and enjoy these little gems on the way back north.
