Normans Cay - McDuffs

Normans Cay is the last chance for internet before the 22 mile stretch that is the Land and Sea Park. We anchored on the west side of Normans the first night then moved around to the east to try to hide behind the land from a breeze that was forecast for last night. A bunch of other boats had the same idea. Its was a lovely, peaceful day and the evening wind was only moderate and mostly blocked by the lower edge of the island. There is a sunken airplane in the shallow section of the anchorage. At low tide bits of it stick out of the water.

It’s a private island so one needs to be respectful and not trespass too much. We did hear that the restaurant for the resort cottages is open to the public. We dinghied over, found the sign on the beach that led to the arch and followed walkway that led back to it. We had cocktails at the bar but hadn’t made reservations so dinner was out. It’s little but quite cute. We’ll have to make reservations next time we pass through.
