We started our crossing before first light so we got a nice sunrise at sea. The initial conditions were a bit choppy. Nothing spilled but some small items did end up on the floor. It settled as the day progressed. The only sea creatures that I saw on the voyage were Portuguese Man of War jellyfish and Flying fish. We were in Bimini by 2:15 pm. We had an easy in onto the T–Head dock at Brown’s Marina. We immediately filled out our Customs & Immigration forms. Captain Mike walked the forms and our $300 fee down to the Customs House and got us cleared into the Bahamas. We are now proud possessors of a cruising license, fishing license and tourist visas. We are flying the Bahamian courtesy flag. We hope to be here for about two months.
Internet is a challenge. We are planning to get a local cell phone with some data to give us connectivity. There are still black out spots so we also have a sat phone for emergencies.
