We made it under the bridge with absolutely no scraping. Two other sailboats from Manteo followed us. Since low tide was in the late afternoon, getting to our next planned stop would require an overnight stretch. Some rough weather was on its way so, to be safe, we pulled in at the next town on Roanoke Island. The whole trip took about 1.5 hours.
The OBX Marina is 99% fishing charter boats. Now they have 3 sailboats on their floating dock for a few days. It’s cloudy, rainy and gusty. We are happy to be here. There are a bunch of big commercial boats blocking the worst of the wind. The Tiki Bar at the marina is closed for the season so we had Happy Hour on Luna with our new boat friends. One of the couples has been all over the world in their boat. They have great stories and pictures.
