Bald Head Island is the tip of Cape Fear, NC. It’s shoals offshore are known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic. The only way to get here is by boat. If you don’t happen to have a boat handy, there is an hourly ferry from Southport. The islanders drive fancy golf carts and bicycles. Consequently, garages and parking lots are adorably small. There are a few work trucks that come in on a ferry e.g. trash truck, grocery delivery truck and a few construction contractors. The island took a lot of damage from Hurricane Florence in 2018. A few houses are still getting patched up. Overall, it’s picturesque and great for bike rides.
