Back in the USA

The crossing went smoothly. The weather cooperated. We were able to fly the Parasailor the whole way so we got a free ride. There were two trawlers next to us for the whole journey drinking diesel like it was going outa style. They only beat us here because we had to pause to take the sail down and then wait for the drawbridge to get to the marina. We used less than a gallon of diesel maneuvering out of Bimini and then into Ft Lauderdale. I can’t imagine how much they used.

We could tell it was time to go home because our Bahamian Courtesy Flag had just about given out. Also, I was running out of space on my shell shelf and I’m out of Bourbon.

We’ll stay at Bahia Mar Marina in Ft Lauderdale for a few days. We’re even closer to the beach than at Las Olas but we’re farther from Mike’s favorite pub, LuLus Bait Shack. The exercise will do us good. We can finally clean the boat and Mike can catch up on work with reliable high-speed internet. We’re looking forward to visiting with local friends and family.
